At RJ Kitchen World, Madurai's only full-service modular kitchen studio on Hakkim Ajmal Khan Road, every kitchen begins with a single visit. Our designer comes to your home, measures your space precisely, and records your lifestyle, cooking habits and storage needs. Nothing is assumed.
Every finish has a different look, feel and maintenance profile. Physical samples of all six are on display in our Chinna Chokkikulam showroom — come in, touch them, see them under kitchen lighting before you decide.

The work triangle - the path between sink, hob and refrigerator - determines how effortlessly your kitchen flows. Every layout optimises this differently.
Two walls at right angles. The most versatile layout in Madurai flats - works from 8x8 ft upwards. Creates a natural work triangle with great separation between cooking and prep zones.
✦ Best for: apartments, 2-4 BHK homes, open-planThree walls of cabinetry - maximum storage and counter space. The work triangle is compact and efficient. Suits dedicated kitchen rooms. Often includes a breakfast counter on one arm.

The shutter is what you look at. The carcass is what you use every day for 15 years.
18mm BWR grade plywood or HDHMR board for the carcass - moisture-resistant in Madurai's humid climate. All edges sealed with ABS edge-banding on all four sides.
Every drawer runs on Blum TANDEMBOX or LEGRABOX runners - rated for 30kg and 500,000 cycles. Every hinge is Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION with integrated soft-close. No unbranded hardware is ever used.
Panels are cut on a CNC panel saw with plus or minus 0.5mm accuracy. Everything arrives pre-cut, pre-edged and pre-drilled for assembly. This is what guarantees a perfect fit on site.
Every L-shape and U-shape includes a Kessebohmer LeMans or magic corner unit - no wasted dead corner. Standard in every RJ kitchen, not an optional add-on.
Upper cabinets above 2.1m are fitted with Blum AVENTOS gas strut lift systems - touch-to-open or handle-pull so no cabinet is ever out of reach.
Not just drawers. Every door, every lift system, every pull-out is soft-close as standard. No slamming, no noise, no wear on the carcass joints over 15 years of daily use.
A basic modular kitchen in Madurai starts around Rs 1.5-2 lakh for a small single-wall or L-shape in acrylic. A mid-range kitchen with Blum hardware, a good chimney and island counter runs Rs 4-7 lakh. A large premium kitchen with PU Lacquer shutters, German appliances and full-height storage can exceed Rs 12 lakh. We give detailed itemised quotes with no surprises.
For heavy Indian cooking with oil, smoke and steam - Ceramic is the most robust: hard, heat-resistant and easiest to clean. Crystal Acrylic and Acrylic Matt are strong second choices. PU Lacquer is beautiful and durable but needs the chimney sized correctly. Lacquered Glass requires the most maintenance near a hob.
Most Madurai flats have a rectangular kitchen of roughly 8x10 ft to 10x12 ft - the L-shape works in almost all of them and is our most-built layout. For narrower rooms, the parallel kitchen is extremely efficient. U-shapes need a minimum 8 ft width between counter walls. We will tell you honestly which layout the room supports after we measure.
After design sign-off and order placement, manufacturing takes 3-4 weeks. Installation itself takes 2-4 days depending on size. Total from order to handover: 4-6 weeks against a written timeline we commit to before starting work.
Yes - and we include it as standard, not as an extra. Blum hardware is rated for 500,000 cycles and carries a lifetime guarantee. Cheaper alternatives lose their smooth action within 2-3 years. A kitchen is a 10-15 year investment; the hardware cost difference is negligible against that lifespan.
We focus on the modular kitchen itself. For civil work - dado tiling, plumbing for the sink, electrical point relocation - we can coordinate with your contractor or recommend trusted trade contacts in Madurai. Plumbing and electrical rough-in should be ready before our installation team arrives.
